The author:
Doctor in French literature, certified in Occitan-langue d'oc, lecturer, Emmanuel Desiles teaches Provençal language and literature at the University of Aix-Marseille. His research work on lengo nostro is published in scientific journals (La Revue d'Études d'Oc, L'Astrado...) but also in periodicals intended for a wider public. To date, he has published nearly 150 works, including editions of various books: Il était une fois une Provence et des femmes, La flore et les lettres provençales, Méthode d'apprentissage rapide de la langue provençale, Culture et littérature provençales...
He has re-edited and translated the Provençal songs of the Aix poet Claude Brueys, the very first Provençal novel: Agueto (Agathe) by Maurice Raimbault, as well as Lou ligame desóublida (The forgotten link) by Louis Giraud. In addition, Emmanuel Desiles is the author of a mystical travelogue in Provençal entitled Ço qu'auren vist de Diéu (What we will have seen of God).
