Volentat - Boisson Divine (version MP3)

Boisson Divine came into being in 2005, through the meeting of Baptist Labenne (guitar, bass, vocals, boha) and Adrian Gilles (drums, vocals) aged 14 and 15, at Riscle in the high lands of Gers(32) in the south west of France. From the very beginning they had a strong desire to create their own personal compositions – an alliance of Gascogne identity and heavy metal. A fusion between tradition and modernity, sung either in French or the regional dialect. Key influences of their style come from 1980′s Heavy Metal (Accept, Iron Maiden, Saxon…), from Folk-Metal (Finntroll, Eluveitie, Dropkick Murphys…) and from regional groups such as (Nadau, Los de L’Ouzom, Los Pagalhos…)

The texts are a reflection of the daily lives of the musicians : rugby, ancient legends, songs to the land, rural solidrity, feasts, traditional songs, preserving heritage and tributes to historical figures.

Following some rare amateur concerts, (as they are only two musicians, adaptation on stage is limited), and the exile of the drummer to the capital city for work, and once they had composed numberous tracks, the recording of the first album started in August 2012. Mixing and mastering was then completed in February 2013. «Enradigats » was born. Boisson Divine follow their own unique path, with a rock, folk metal style with deep roots, but with its gaze firmly fixed on the horizon.

Nothing grows without roots.

Following the released of this first album, Boisson Divine receveid a warm welcome from the music press, but not only, from the traditionnal milieu and the rugby world as well.

The band is often asked to play live wich isn’t possible yet : they are only two in the band !

They look for new live members.

Luca, who plays in the same rugby team, is a guitarist. He joins the band.

Then come Freddy who plays the whistle and sing in gascon also.

Pierre, is young metalhead bagpiper from Pau. Afetr an audition in a parc with Baptiste, he joins the band .

So far, they still can’t find a bassist. Adrian asks for his brother to join the band, and despite the distance (he now lives in the parisian suburbs) he gladly accepts !

They starts live session, but unfortunately Freddy leaves the band.

He is replaced by Ayla, a young traditionnal musician from Pau. She is the only charming and girly note of the band.

Eventually, Benjamin, a accordion player is recruited.

On stage Boisson Divine came from 2 to 7 now !

Note that the CD version (with booklet including all texts and translations) is also available here.
