The author:
Born in Provence, Magali Bizot-Dargent is a schoolteacher by profession. Raised on the other side of the Iron Curtain, she felt the need to rediscover her roots on her return home. So she turned to the language of her ancestors and began publishing short stories, articles, poems and columns in various newspapers and magazines. In 2011, her collection of short stories, Cronicas Pacolinas, won the first edition of the Prix littérature jeunesse occitan, a philosophical, humorous and curious slice of life that speaks to young and old alike. Building on this success, Magali Bizot-Dargent has since published other works: Esquissas per un retrach de l’ombra, a collection of biographical short stories, as well as another collection of poems and volume 2 of Questions essencialas. An arts enthusiast, Magali also sings in the polyphonic group Misé Babilha. And when she's not singing, as she so aptly puts it, she's painting - her work Frema Curda having been exhibited in Aubagne in 2017 during the “Questions de femmes” exhibition.
