Poème de Clara d'Anduza (Poem in occitan) - Provençal translation de Frédéric Mistral
Clara d'Anduze was a trobairitz, a troubadour woman, very probably originating from the family of the lords of Anduze, in the Gard. Born about the year 1200, she would be the daughter of Pierre Bermond VI de Sauve, and the wife of Hugues de Mirabel. We know her a little through the life of her lover, the troubadour Uc de Saint-Circ. She was also linked to another trobairitz, Azalaïs d'Altier, who reconciled the two lovers. Time has left us one song, full of passion, which is perhaps one of the most beautiful and most modern of those which the troubadours have bequeathed to us. We present here three versions: the original Occitan text, an infidel French translation, and the modern Provençal one.
