Las nóvas del papagai - Arnaut de Carcassés
(Les nouvelles du perroquet) - édition bilingue occitan-français.
There are, we believe, nothing in our Middle Ages, that approach more than any real instinctive and secret poetry, as to where we Arnaut de Carcassés painted recontre so brief, in the park, under the glare red manor in flames, the two lovers who love without connaêtre, and, perhaps, do meet again ...
An eloquent parrot comes to visit a married lady (locked up in her garden and watched by guards at the initiative of a jealous husband) in the name of her master to ask her to give him his love he says he wants more than everything in the world. Lady and parrot argue (she opposes at the beginning, declaring to love her husband) and the first ends up giving way. The parrot then sets fire to the castle and thus distracts the guards by giving new lovers the opportunity to love each other intensely at least once in the garden.
New in langue d'oc in 310 octosyllables with flat rhymes. Introduction and translation of Pierre Bec. Cover of Corinne Cathy.

« Voici ce que raconte sire Arnaut de Carcasses, qui adressa

fantaisie... Cela vaudra mieux et désormais personne, sur ce
point, ne sera en faute. »
