Chansons de Provence - Cansoun de Prouvènço (Songs of Provence - Book + CD)

The song brings together all the ages in the situations of the everyday life: agricultural works (Ai rescountra ma mio) crafts or industrial trades, parties (Adiéu paure carnavau ...), balls (Polka d'Arnayon ...), traditions of Christmas (Cantèn Nouvè ...), family life, meals and leisure, rhymes and children's rounds (Lou cat es au sou ...). The harmony and the sound of the Provencal are highlighted by the quality of the voices, the atmosphere of the traditional instruments of the country: the tambourine and the galoubet, the violin, and finally the guitar. This warm interpretation makes us rediscover the pleasure of singing these melodies of the country, and making them rediscover for all generations.

These 29 Provencal songs and rhymes are easy to sing and memorize, with a simple but varied vocabulary: the days of the week in "Ai rescountra ma mio", the body parts in "Jan Petit".
These Songs of Provence appeal to both young and old: easy dances (with explanation of steps) for children from 3 years, ideal time to start to soak up the language: then more elaborate words like "Lou pichoun ome "who are singing with the greatest, at school or with family.
Finally melodies that we take together all in chorus and which are an expression of our identity, as "Se canto" ...

It also contains French translations of songs, scores and 21 color illustrations.
This warm, clear and lively performance makes us rediscover the pleasure of singing these melodies of the country, and making them rediscover to children. Because we thought that it is important to transmit and learn these songs. Their timbre and speed allows them to be repeated together, including with young children, in all three school cycles.

We can write Provençal in two different ways: almost phonetically (Mistralian spelling)
- or being closer to the writing of troubadours (classical writing).
