The author:
Ives Roqueta is an Occitan poet and writer born in Sète in 1936 and died in 2015. He is the husband of Marie Rouanet and the brother of Joan Larzac.
He was one of the leaders of the Occitan political and cultural movement. He founded the Ventadorn label, which allowed the new Occitan song to find a new audience.
At the political level, he had responsibilities in the autonomous movement Volčm Viure al País in the late 1970s, and then acceded to the French Socialist Party in 1981 before leaving.
