The author:

Born in Nîmes in 1943, Lise Gros is a daughter of the garrigue and the marshes, thanks to her father's work as a primary school teacher, the Nîmes writer and storyteller Jòrgi Gròs. She was a primary school teacher and then a teacher-trainer specializing in regional language and culture at the IUFM in Nîmes (30). A militant occitanist and defender of regional traditions, she was also involved in the Course Camarguaise. She left her teaching career to become a storyteller and author in 1990, and has since toured the roads of France and Occitania with "Faire parlar lo païs". President of TèVéÒc, Occitan television for 13 years, she now devotes her time to defending and promoting the Occitan language and culture.
