Impromptus - Bernard Manciet
Bernard Manciet offers nine impromptu poems, written "de chic" as he puts it, without a model, spontaneously. These are strong poems, constructed and disconcerting, the poems of a maverick.
An exceptional poetic force that immediately draws us into his world of expression, his rhythm, his words thrown at the reader.
thrown at the reader. These poems are reminiscent of jazz improvisations, both inspired and learned.
Bilingual Occitan Gascon and French.

The author:
Bernard Manciet is the greatest Gascon poet of the 20th century, September 2023 being the centenary of his birth.
Born in Sabres on September 27, 1923, he died in Mont-de-Marsan on June 2, 2005. After a ten-year career in the diplomatic service, he moved to the Landes region in 1955. He began writing, and soon became one of the most outstanding Gascon authors of the 20th century. Gascon," he used to say, "is the language of my muscles and my breath. He published his first verses in the magazine Reclams. He is also editor-in-chief of the magazine Òc. Bernard Manciet tried his hand at every genre: sonnet, epic poetry, theater, short story, novel, essay. His body of work is gigantic.
