Sextine pour le pays d'Òc - Sextina pel país d'Òc - Jean-François MARCEL & Alan ROCH

(Sextine for the Occitan country)

"Sextine pour le pays d'Oc" is the result of a creative research-intervention that brings together six poets, six university researchers and a visual artist to propose, through their cooperation, an original knowledge of the Pays d'Oc. Their exchanges and controversies focus on six emblematic concepts: Cosmogony - Desire - Language - Measurement - Praxis - Transmission.

Sextina pel país d’Òc es la resulta d’una recèrca-intervencion creacion que recampa poètas, cercaires universitaris e un plastician per prepausar, mercé a lor collaboracion, una coneissença originala del País d’Òc a partir d’escambis e controvèrsias que viran a l’entorn de sièis concèptes : Cosmogonia – Desir – Lengatge – Mesura – Praxis – Transmission.

Under the direction of:

Jean-François Marcel (UMR-EFST) is Professor at the Université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, where he has headed the UMR EFTS for the past two terms. He is also in charge of the Master's program in the Department of Education and Training Sciences, and has been elected to the University's Research Commission.

Alan Roch (IEO Aude) was born in 1952 in Carcassonne, Aude. A primary-school teacher and cultural organizer, he is also an author, translator and storyteller. He was General Secretary of the IEO (1981-1986).

The book reflects the approach adopted: each chapter opens with a creation by visual artist Didier Mir, followed by poems by the participants: Pauline Kamakine, Eliane Pignol, Miquèla Stenta, Éric Fraj, Alan Roch and Gerard Zuchetto.
These works are then analyzed by researchers from the “Education, Training, Work, Knowledge” unit (Toulouse-Jean-Jaurès University): Dominique Aussel, Véronique Belin, Dominique Broussal, Jean-François Marcel, Manon Delbreil.
Finally, after a debate, the group gives a summary.
