A pleasant way to transmit to new generations the occitan language, with a format adapted for young children.


Papagai is for smaller children (4-8 years) and is Vistedit, editor of the occitan newspaper "La setmana", which publishes. Nice magazine, it offers an image album with stories in Occitan and games (like coloring). At the end of each number, is a picture book with a presentation of a thematic vocabulary (circus, house, etc.). Read among a short cartoon "Las aventuras de Pelut" (the adventures of Pelut) significant initiative because it lacks original cartoon in Occitan.

Papagai is a monthly magazine proposed in various Occitan dialects such as Gascon or Languedocien.

There is also an adaptation in Occitan Provencal, Alpine and Niçois dialect made by the C.R.E.O. Provença-Aups-Pais Niçard (Regional IEO). This version is limited to 4 annual issues (quarterly) but always for children aged 4 to 8 years.
