Occitan adaptation of the comedy of Aristophanes, Lysistrata, an ancient Greek comedy written in 411 BC. Aristophanes, on several occasions, stages in his plays women who revolt against the domination of men and take power, which leads to allusions, more or less explicit, to the Amazons. Several situations show this willingness to reverse roles in a society that proclaims that "War is the business of men and the home, that of women. Lysistrata is a play in which the comic of words is very present: one often finds plays of vulgar words, references to sexuality and neologisms.
Manel Zabala, Critica catalana pareguda, dens L'Avenç (Barcelona), n° 322.
