Fatorgas Aupencas – Fatorgues alpines - André Faure

In our mountains and valleys, fatorgues have long enamelled long wakes and family meals. They were transmitted from generation to generation, sometimes adapting to the situation of the moment. Often what was told was related to what was lived on a daily basis. But the bottom always remained the same: it was to keep for the end a tip or a fall that made everyone laugh or smile. It made fun of one or the other and it made it possible to live the day of the next day a little more easily.


The collectors have saved a large number of them, but, no doubt to give a clean image of the good people, they have often despised the "licentious" tales which are as valuable as the others, which are at the end of the booklet. do not have to tell them to the children!


And then, these stories go so much from one village to another and from one house to another that it is almost impossible to know the exact origin. That those who are the authors but who are not mentioned please excuse us. The main thing is that they are transmitted so that those who come after us know in what state of mind our elders lived.
