Sinèra - raconte - Andrieu Lagarda
Sinèra e la mòstra d'òr, André Lagarde takes us on the journey of a man of the people, between the 19th and 20th centuries: from the marvelous discoveries of a child curious about everything around him, through school days and the excesses of youth, to the successes of an adult who has won his material independence.
It's the life of a craftsman who must adapt to the technical and economic changes at work, leaving his small country village for the industrial city.
With finesse and great mastery, André Lagarde shares with us all the events that punctuate Sinèra's life: celebrations and festivities, adventures and successes, but also apprehensions, tragedies and misfortunes.
The book is written in a lively language that makes it a pleasure to read. A glossary of Occitan words makes the text easy to understand.
Sinèra e la mòstra d'òr, one of André Lagarde's most successful books.
New 2023 edition! The first edition published in 1999 by Gai saber was long out of print. Revised and corrected, this edition in Occitan will enable new readers to discover this story written in a lively, deeply-rooted language.

The author:
Born in Bélesta (Ariège) in 1925, André Lagarde was a primary school teacher, then a Spanish teacher and, for many years, a teacher's adviser in Occitan. He has published numerous works designed to help children learn Occitan.
A gifted storyteller, he has happily transcribed many popular tales from Occitan and, more broadly, from Europe. His personal versions of classic tales are among the most accomplished, while preserving the art of the storyteller.
Gathered on the borders of the Aude and Ariège regions, his Secrèts de las bèstias are among the finest collections of tales from the Pays d'Oc, following in the footsteps of Bladé, Arnaudin and Perbosc.
He also published lexicographical tools such as his Vocabulari occitan. Other works include collections of expressions and riddles, anthologies and ethnographic chronicles.
A rich and prolific body of work.
