The author:
Before devoting himself to writing, Jean-Pierre Lacombe was a farmer in his native Corrèze until 2003. Today, he divides his time between writing and photography, and has already published several works on the history and architecture of the Limousin and the Bort region, as well as several collections of poetry, including Le Dever del vaure, and a novel.
La Pèrla, a translation of John Steinbeck's The Pearl, is his first translation published by Letras d'Òc in 2014.
Daus vistons dins la nuech, a collection of Occitan short stories, followed in 2015, and in 2017 the translation of a contemporary novel by Irish writer Sebastian Barry, dedicated to the 1914 war, ‘Na lonja lonja viá.
A few years later, in 2023, he published another collection of short stories: Mudadas.
