Estelle Ceccarini, lecturer in Italian studies, spent her childhood between Nîmes and the Petite Camargue. She discovered Provençal in the wake of her grandfather, the son of Italian immigrants who settled in the Camargue, and her father, a horse breeder, and it was in this language that her poetic writing was born.
Estelle Ceccarini, a lecturer in Italian studies, spent her childhood between Nîmes and the Petite Camargue, where her poetic roots lie. There, she discovered and learned Provençal, and has since developed a bilingual poetic style in Provençal and French. She has published with the "Aucèu libre" publishing house: a poetic tale on the legendary origins of the Camargue horse, L’istòri dóu pichot chivau / L'histoire du petit cheval (2015, illustrated by Grégory Bonfillon), and two collections of poems Chivau / Chevaux (2016, with photographs by Florent Gardin) and Li piado dóu matin / Les traces du matin (2018, with illustrations by Ludovic Iacovo and a foreword by Philippe Gardy).
