Eric GONZALES (1964 - 2023), spent his childhood in Gelos, near the capital of Béarn. After studying classics, he became a writer and translator of Occitan. A member of the CPLO's Linguistic Council, he was a reference for Gascon.

Eric GONZALÈS, born in Pau in 1964 and died in 2023, spent his childhood in Gelos, near the capital of Bearn. After studying classics, he became a writer and translator of Occitan, launching a new expression in Gascon literature. In 1991, he began writing short stories, most of which appeared in the magazine Reclams. In 1996, he published his first book, L’òrra istuèra d’un hilh de Gelòs (A tots), a highly modern novel which won him the Prix Jean Boudou.
A member of the CPLO's Linguistic Council, he has been a benchmark for Gascon.
